These instructions may be helpful in teaching you how to make your bookmark. It only teaches you how to make a basic one, but if you want to make a different kind, like a butterfly or a ladybug, don’t hesitate to search it up! But, you should learn the basic ones before trying to make the harder ones. Remember, you can choose whatever you want the bookmark to look like, so go ahead and have fun!
These are the materials you’ll need for a basic one.
- Paper
- Scissors
- Glue
- Marker
(You’ll only need materials 2-4 if you want to put some designs on your bookmark)
Instructions:
- Get a square piece of paper
- Fold it in half so it looks like a triangle with the long flat side facing down.
- Fold the one corner up from the bottom
- Fold the other side up in the same way so it looks like a diamond.
- Open the diamond back up so it’s a triangle shape again.
- Fold one side of the diamond in the middle down
- Tuck one of the triangles in the pocket.
- Then tuck the other side as well.
- Then, you can do whatever designs that you want on it. If you couldn’t really understand these instructions, the video at the bottom might be helpful.
We also made our own bookmarks, and they were very fun to make!
Great! You’ve made your own bookmark! Take a picture of it and submit it as your evidence for finishing this unit. Don’t worry if it’s your first time and it doesn’t look like you wanted it to. Now, go ahead and enjoy your book with your newly made bookmark.
