Draw and Pass
Learning and practising a skill

Drawing a defender is a an important skill if you are to give your team mates space in which to attack and score.

Watch this video and make a note of the tips to make an effective draw and pass.

Set up a draw and pass drill like the one in this video below and practise.

Pop Pass from Dummy Half
Learning and practising a skill

The pop pass from dummy half is often used when driving the ball upfield.  The aim is to present the ball in front of the runner so they are running on to it at speed.  When it is done well, it is a very effective way to move the team in to a scoring position.

Note the position of the dummy half and that they are facing the direction of the pass.

Both hands are on the ball.

The ball is released in front of the runner and it is a flat pass.

Practise in threes as in the drill below.  It would be good to record your time and see if you can improve the time.
