The school nurse manages the first aid room to ensure the optimum health and safety of our students. The candidate will have oversight of student medical requirements, provide immediate medical care, and ensure accurate and timely management of medication and information to maximise health and wellbeing in our school community. In this role, the candidate will work closely with ICHK Secondary staff to ensure that appropriate medical information, trained staff, medication, and resources are available during offsite activities.
Requirements:

Enrolled Nurse
-
CPR/First Aid certification and certified CPR/First Aid Trainer, or willingness to attain certification.

Start date 13 April 2026
Experience:
-
Minimum 3 years of clinical work experience, preferably in schools or as a paediatric or emergency room nurse.
Skills:
-
High-level interpersonal skills, including the ability to form warm and trusting relationships with students aged 10 to 18 years, staff, parents, guardians, and colleagues.
-
Both written/verbal English and Cantonese communication skills are desirable.
-
Demonstrates organisational and crisis management skills, with the ability to multitask and remain calm in high-pressure situations.
-
Strong health assessment skills with the ability to intervene appropriately in emergency circumstances.
-
Review medical, health, and well-being plans and programmes to ensure that the needs of students and staff are met.
-
Ability to coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources and providers.

Understanding of confidentiality and how to maintain this within the health office.
Competencies:

Professional Knowledge - nursing and First Aid Skills.

Interpersonal and communication skills - training, presenting, relating positively to students, parents, and staff.

Crisis management - dealing with medical emergencies

Organisational skills - managing the nurse office, supplies, first aid documentation, and accurate record keeping.
