Friendly reminder, don’t rush this!
- This unit will teach you what a scrapbook is and how to make one for yourself
- It is a great way to express yourself and enjoy the process, by the end you will be able to look back on it anytime.
- It is your scrapbook. Design it however you’d like it to be!
- Have fun!
A scrapbook is pages filled with images, text, decorations, etc. It’s a way to bring out your creative side and incorporate your personal style/touch to it. It brings back memories, which you can look back on at any time. It is similar to a yearbook, but made by you!
The purpose of making a scrapbook is to look back on things. When looking back at them it will remind you of the time when you made it and how much fun you were having.
We personally have a scrapbook at home that we look back at occasionally. It’s a great way of bringing back past memories.
To make a good scrapbook, you will need:

Important Note about Printing: if you are printing images at the Library, remember that you have a limited number of colour pages you can print each month. Be sure to fit as many images onto one page as possible, to help ensure you don't run out of printing quota.
Step 1
Reminder: Take video clips or photos of your process, you will need them to submit your work!
- Make sure you have space to work, it might get a little messy!
- Get your scrapbook notebook. You can buy one in almost any stationary shop!
- Decide what you want your scrapbook to be about. (e.g. Your pet, your family, your friends, or something random)
- Get a piece of A4 paper and a pencil. Start planning what you want to include on each page of your scrapbook. (Make sure to think about your layout!)
Step 2
- Gather all of the necessary materials that are listed above.
- Have all your pictures/any pieces of material you want to customize, be cut into however you’d like it to be.
- Start with the first spread, rather than doing all of the spreads at once.
- On your first spread, have a layout that is filled and ready to be stuck on.
- Once you are happy with it, go ahead and use a glue or washi tape or tape, any source you can use to stick the materials on to the spread.
Step 3
- Repeat step 2 with the rest of your spreads.
- Remember: DON’T RUSH, HAVE FUN!
Step 4
- Go over the pages, flick through them and decide if you’re happy with the almost finished product.
- If you feel the need to patch some things up, go ahead and do so.
Step 5
- Admire your work!
- Go to the submission/Evidence section on this link to help you submit your work :)
Here are a few videos you can watch to help you find inspiration/ideas or any trouble you might have during this unit.
Submit a video of your process and the finished pages with a voice-over on it or pictures of the process and the finished pages with short paragraphs.
(Pictures: Google Doc or Google Slides. Make sure you have Shareable Link on!)
In the video, doc or slides please include:
- The process of your scrapbooking (explain the process, any challenges?)
- The finished pages
- Your reflection
Done!
